PatchBee vs Robopack

Robopack and PatchBee are the two Intune-native tools that package from the winget community repository and offer a free tier at 50 devices. From there they diverge: Robopack adds the Microsoft Store to its catalog and quotes a figure above 30,000 apps; PatchBee adds Homebrew and ships macOS today, with vulnerability data on every update.

Pricing is where the two differ most for a small fleet. Robopack's first paid step is a $1,000 yearly plan for 51 to 100 devices; PatchBee charges $3 per device per year from device 51, so a 60-device shop pays $180.

Robopack figures checked 11 October 2026 against the sources listed below.

Where Robopack is the better choice

  • You want the widest possible Windows catalog, including Microsoft Store apps, in one place.
  • You are already in their partner channel (several European MSPs resell it) and want the tool bundled with services.
  • You run a Windows-only fleet and the macOS half of PatchBee's catalog is of no use to you.

Where PatchBee is the better choice

  • You manage Macs as well as Windows devices. PatchBee packages and updates 1,300+ macOS apps today, from the same console and rings.
  • You are between 51 and roughly 330 devices, where $3 per device costs less than the $1,000 Starter step and the graduated rate that follows it.
  • You want CVE and CVSS data on the update queue, an exploited flag from CISA KEV, and a fast-track that approves critical fixes without waiting out the ring delay.
  • You want to pay only for devices you actually deploy to, invoiced, with no card and no contract.

What is the same

Both are Intune-only and agentless, both draw on the winget repository for Windows apps, both let you review the generated plan before publishing, both support several tenants, and both let a small organisation run the full product for free under 50 devices.
