Using app sets
An App Set is a reusable bundle of apps, like "Standard workstation" or "Developer tools", that you deploy in one action instead of publishing apps one by one.
Two kinds of set
- Global library: ready-made starter sets (for example Windows Essentials), shared and read-only.
- Personal: your own sets, which you edit freely.
Start from a starter set
- Open App sets → Global library.
- On a set you like, select Customize. PatchBee copies it into your Personal sets, pinning each app to its current latest version. The original starter set is never changed.
Create or edit a set
- Open App sets → Personal.
- Create a set and name it, or select Edit on an existing one.
- In the editor, search the catalog to add apps, or Remove apps you do not want.
- Save to keep your changes, or Cancel to discard.
Deploy a set
- On a set, select Deploy.
- Choose the target: Customers (every Intune tenant a selected customer owns) or Intune tenants (specific connections you pick).
- Confirm. PatchBee creates a publish job for each app on each selected tenant, skipping anything already in progress.
Example: a baseline for every new customer
An MSP keeps a personal set called Managed workstation baseline: Chrome, 7-Zip, Adobe Reader, Zoom, VLC and Notepad++. Onboarding a new customer means connecting their tenant, then Deploy on the set with that customer selected: six apps, packaged, published and assigned in one action, identically to every other customer. When Chrome ships an update, update tracking covers every tenant the set was deployed to.
