PatchBee docs
Getting started
Sign in, pick a plan, and find your way around. Five minutes from first sign-in to your first deployed app is realistic; the example at the end shows the exact route.
- Open app.patchbee.io.
- Select Sign in with Microsoft and choose your Microsoft work account.
- On first sign-in, PatchBee sets up your workspace automatically and asks for a couple of details and which plan you want: Free (up to 50 devices, active straight away) or a 30-day trial of Pro or MSP.
Find your way around
The left sidebar is your map:
| Section | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | A health overview of your apps and tenants |
| App Library | Browse and search the catalog of deployable apps |
| Jobs | Track packaging jobs in progress, with step logs |
| Deployed Apps | Everything you have published, with current vs latest version |
| Update Candidates | Deployed apps with a newer version available |
| Migrate | Adopt apps that are already in your tenant |
| Settings | Intune connections, notifications, rollout profiles, users |
Sections with an arrow hold more pages inside them; click the section to open it. They start closed to keep the sidebar short, and the section stays highlighted while you are on a page inside it.
Your plan and device count
Your current plan sits in the top-right corner of every page; during a trial it also counts down the days you have left. The Dashboard shows a Devices tile with the number of devices in the Intune tenants you have connected:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| 42 / 50 | You are on Free: 42 devices counted, 50 included |
| 1,280 | You are on Pro or MSP: no device limit, so there is nothing to count against |
| – Not read yet | PatchBee has not been able to count your devices yet, usually because no Intune tenant is connected. It is not the same as having zero devices |
PatchBee refreshes the count on its own a couple of times a day. To check it right now, select the refresh icon on the Devices tile (shown to workspace admins).
Example: your first deploy, in five minutes
- Sign in at app.patchbee.io and choose the Free plan.
- Connect your tenant: Settings → Intune connections → Add connection → Admin consent. Approve in the Microsoft window that opens.
- Open App Library, search for 7-Zip, and open it.
- Select Package latest. The plan page opens with install command, detection rule and return codes already filled in.
- Select Package and deploy, pick your tenant, assign it to a pilot Entra group, keep Supersede & replace, and confirm.
- Watch the job under Jobs. A small app like 7-Zip is typically published and assigned in under a minute.
A few features are Pro or MSP
- They are never hidden: they carry a small Pro or MSP label and explain what they would give you when you open them.
- The full list is on the plans page of these docs, together with what the Free limit really does.
